Applications are being accepted for a full time School Psychologist.  The position is available January 1, 2020.  This is a 10 month position.  However, some work may be necessary in the summer months due to the caseload of students and their individual needs.  Additional compensation is available for individual's with National Certification.

 

Summary – The School Psychologist provides psychological assessment, treatment and conclusive services as a member of the School/County Multi-disciplinary Team.

Education and/or Experience

Must have a Master’s degree in appropriate School Psychologist program of study. Previous experience as a School Psychologist is preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Possess a State of Maryland Teaching Certificate with the School Psychologist endorsement or be eligible for designated certification.

 

      A valid driver’s license is required.

 

Language Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with and to gain the confidence and cooperation of students, parents, the school staff and medical agency personnel.

 

Mathematical Skills

Basic arithmetic skills and familiarity with the student Math curriculum.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to administer and interpret psychological tests and formulate diagnoses.

 

Computer Skills

Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software programs.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

 Knowledge of the school system organization and operations.  Familiar with the County and the demographics of the area.

 

Other Qualifications

Must be able to travel to several schools within the County and out of town meetings as required.
