Summary:

Individual is responsible for working with students who require school health services by performing the following duties utilizing practices in accordance with the current medical and nursing standards of care.

 

A temporary position is available for the 24-25 school year. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned by the Building Principal, School Nurse, Nurse Manager, or the Supervisor of Special Programs.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

- Ensuring children have good hygiene.

- Helping to teach toileting skills to young children.

- Providing feedback and information about toilet training to parents of young children.

- Helping to create Toilet Training Kits for families.

- Changing diapers as necessary

- Assisting the school nurse when applicable.

- Other duties assigned which may include serving as a classroom assistant.

 

This is a temporary assignment and does not include any associated full time benefits.  The hours are 8:35 a.m. - 4:05 p.m. each day that students attend school.

 

There are two positions available. One at Princess Anne Elementary School and one at Woodson Elementary School.

  

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Individual must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant and must provide a copy of license upon request. Nursing experience with adolescents is preferred.

  

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional and trade journals, technical procedures, or instructional materials. Ability to write reports, detailed lesson plans, and procedure manuals as directed.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, administrators, parents and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply basic arithmetic concepts.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

 

 

Other Skills and Abilities

Must demonstrate knowledge of current medical and nursing standards of care.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to provide health counseling when necessary.  Must be organized and possess good time management skills.
