Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and multi-skilled professional to join our Adult Education program. This full-time position combines three essential roles:
- Adult Education Coordinator
- Intake Assessment Specialist
- Instructional Specialist
This role is critical in supporting the delivery of high-quality adult education services that help learners improve literacy, numeracy, and workforce readiness skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating program functions, administering and analyzing intake assessments, and providing instructional support aligned with state and federal adult education guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Coordination
- Collaborate with the Supervisor to support program planning, data reporting, and compliance with DWD&AE grant requirements.
- Assist in managing timelines and deliverables for program goals and benchmarks.
- Communicate with stakeholders, community partners, and staff as needed.
- Intake Assessment Specialist
- Conduct intake interviews and administer state-approved diagnostic assessments (e.g., TABE, CASAS) for new and returning adult learners.
- Analyze assessment results to determine appropriate class placement and identify learner needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely assessment records in compliance with DWD&AE policy.
- Coordinate assessment scheduling and ensure testing environments adhere to standardized procedures.
- Instructional Specialist
- Collaborate with instructors to interpret assessment data and inform instructional planning.
- Support the development and implementation of standards-based instructional practices that improve Measurable Skill Gains (MSGs).
- Deliver small group or one-on-one academic support, as needed.
- Assist with professional development for instructors around assessment-informed instruction and learner engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in adult education, assessment administration, or instructional support.
- Familiarity with adult learning theory, WIOA Title II requirements, and state/federal adult education regulations.
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using assessment software (e.g., TABE Online, CASAS eTests) and educational technology tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
- This position is 100% grant-funded and is contingent on continued funding from the Division of Workforce Development and Adult Education.
- Travel to satellite locations may be required.
- Evening hours may be necessary based on student needs.
